Legend has it that during the late 1800's or early 1900's, a certain "Lady of the Night" by the name of Ms. Whitney set her sights on The Brown Hotel to further her business and gain a more lucrative clientele. When the owner caught wind of her plans, he took matters into his own hands by murdering her. Some say Ms. Whitney still resides at The Brown, sometimes haunting the women's bathroom. The story still attracts ghost hunters around the country, and the Summit Daily just wrote this story on 10/31/2010: Inside The Haunted Brown Hotel & Restaurant. The Brown is a major attraction on the Breckenridge Heritage Society's Haunted Tour, where they will bring you to search for Ms. Whitney as well as explore other haunted locations in town.
